This is a fun tool to see if your interwebz keeps up with your modem. You can even schedule the update to ping a particular IP number at a specific interval if you like.
Please keep it short. It’s now a few years old. However, we don’t want this to just be a graveyard. So I have provided link to an archive. This archive has the nopingalert.conf.py file. This you can edit and put your username and password in to it. However, be careful. This archive is in plain text. If you think you can’t handle the code, contact the developer to add a login.
It is also possible to launch an external program with the No Ping Alert when it gets alarmed. There is a menu item for that too. In the nopingalert.conf.py file you will have to find the line that says ‚run_external_program‘
Comment it out so that the alarm doesn’t seem to run the program. However, it will still be when the alarm fires.
