    No Body Home is a 2D sidescrolling love simulator game where you choose to play as either the main male protagonist, or the female protagonist, of a story about two individuals who drift aimlessly in an anonymous world. The male protagonist is a drug addict and collector of items. The female protagonist is an ‘Utopia’ producer and collector of friends. Unlike previous games of this genre, No Body Home attempts to build human relationships in this otherwise blank, non-dynamic environment.

    No Body Home is a love simulator because it is intended to be a healing space for its characters. Whether you play as the female protagonist, or the male protagonist, at the end of the game, you are both in charge of being responsible for the other, and that means all of the characters in your lives need to be cared for properly. The game is designed to make its characters change, in order to have them reach a stable state where they are not addicts and where they are not lonely.

    This is an unconventional love simulator because the game follows the lives of two protagonists, who are not married, but have a connection to each other. It is an unconventional love simulator because at the end of the game, they both help each other reach a stable state.

    It would be more traditional for a love simulator, to have one person be in the role of ‘patient,’ and the other person be in the role of ‘caretaker.’ While that is a common convention, it is not entirely accurate to the way humans create emotionally stable relationships. Humans can be “caretaker” of one person, while they can also be “patient,” of another person.

    Contrary to some traditional love simulators, No Body Home does not play out like the typical love simulator, which means that you need to shift back and forth between controlling both protagonists, instead of focusing on only one person. Traditional love simulators only let you control the protagonist you are meant to be “caretaking,” but in this game, you can shift back and forth between controlling both protagonists.

    No Body Home is not afraid of the word “love,” and it does not attempt to avoid the concept of love, but, most traditional love simulators do not allow you to select the relationship you want to be in.     At the start of the game you get a visual and aural explanation of what will be happening in game, in order to be sure you know what you are going through. We keep the style used in most films, with no narration or voiceover.
    You will be in a first-person view, as you move through the different rooms. Your movements and things you will be looking for, will be in the first-person view. You will be moving through three rooms at a time, until you are at the end of the maze.
    You will be in the cellar for the entire game, that’s why some parts are difficult, because you can’t see everything at once.
    We want you to explore the surroundings, find clues, discover something and think about what’s going on.
