This game is a homage to the classic point-and-click adventure, originally known as the visual novel. However, this is not a game with a plot.

You play as a newspaper editor who has accidentally found an access to the “Totally Awesome Time Machine” – just that! After the time machine, the User, has been forced to travel into the future, the time machine is about to crash and be disposed of. Our protagonist will embark to try to fix the incident and return to his own time.

Together with the User, you will explore the world of Dreamland, but not before a little bit of psychedelic puzzle-solving. As you progress through the game, you’ll meet interesting and in some cases quirky characters, as well as solve the puzzles and beat the bad guys!

The ultimate goal of this game is to return to the future. This can only be done by finding all of the missing items hidden in Dreamland. Finding a certain item may have many side-quests and you may be tempted to help with some characters.

At this time, there is no “main” story. What is written here are just a few interesting topics which, if you’ve played the demo, you already know.

This is one of those games that you will play. It’s free so why not?! If you like point-and-click adventures, it’s time to take the plunge into Dreamland!

Gameplay:

Gameplay is a mixture between Harry Potter and Simon the Sorcerer, meaning that you will explore some locations, solve a few puzzles, ask questions, and run away and jump into the pocket dimension.

The game is built around a set of simple, one-click, point-and-click controls. They are defined as in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where you would click to move, jump, and look around.

You can also interact with objects and with other characters by clicking on them. Some objects are inactive, meaning that you would need to click to take them out of the path. When you interact with something it will stay on the screen and will not get lost.

The inventory is being done as in Simon the Sorcerer with the click-

  Instructions (relevantly: the ’n‘ key is for new, the ‚q‘ key is for quit):

  Arrows & Numbers: Move the cursor around to wherever you want, then press the arrow button to move the cursor to the next block or number and press to type it in.
  The Bakebake Button: If there are 20 Bakebakes on the board and you press, you’ll do a random one of them, with a 5% chance of doing a quarter of the entire Bakebake stack, and a 5% chance of doing all. If you press again you will clear all. If you press again a third time, you will erase the top baked block and the blocks underneath (reducing the height by one) leaving you with 25 Bakebakes.
  The Magic Books Button: Pressing shows five possible magic books on the book wheel, and clears the cursor on the same spot. Note that there are no Magic Books for the youkai, as they require a youkai host.
  The Sunflower Fairy Button: Pressing shows a Sunflower Fairy up to the left, and clears the cursor on the same spot. Pressing again brings up an inventory window for that fairy.
  The Red Yinyang Button: Pressing shows a red yinyang on the left, and clears the cursor on the same spot. Pressing again takes the yinyang and an enemy youkai to the top of the board, after which it disappears. Each enemy youkai you show has 5 yinyangs.

  This category is reserved for general questions, regarding a player’s current character or the game’s features. Questions in this category should include a request for help as well, since the staff are pretty busy with the chores of reading and answering the tens of thousands of emails.

  General Q. : completing on-going storylines

  Be aware, that because of the constant back and forth, there are bound to be repetitive questions. Questions related to storylines and plot lines, should be of epic size. Especially so that we can point you to the wiki once we can answer them.

  General Q. : the level scaling process

  All the readers, who have been in this part of the game more than twice, know that their characters‘ skills were in direct relation to their level, which is no longer the case! Furthermore, a lot of characters are level 30 or below and are considered to be in between level 30-50.

  But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean that you should make your characters useless! We are certain of many things. Among other things, no one other than the creators has any control over everything that’s going on in the game. So, the number will most likely not be changed in a rash manner, now that we’ve figured out most of the problems with level scaling. Those guys need our help first, though!
