I’m not sure if we can truly verify, but let’s try.

Mountains Screensaver is a freeware application that implements screen savers containing images of mountain scenes. The application can be downloaded from the SaversPlanet’s official website, and installed automatically with no further configuration required.

Here is a screen shot from the Mountain Screensaver main window:

Mountains Screensaver supports only 4 monitors (32-bit and 64-bit systems), and the choice of image to be displayed is determined by the combination of the monitor’s resolution and the selected options, from which you can choose:

No monitor (static screen saver),

Change the resolution of the monitor,

Center the monitor on the selected image,

Center the selected image on the selected monitor,

Move the monitor around the selected image,

Scale the selected image (stretch and compress),

Rotate the selected image,

Adjust the transparency of the selected image.

All of these options are shown in the above image, and you can choose each of them by clicking the corresponding button.

Apart from the screensaver configuration options, SaversPlanet Mountains Screensaver is a minimalist application: the only way you can interact with it is through the main screen saver window.

That said, Mountain Screensaver does provide the above settings, but I’m not sure how to use them.

As shown in the above image, you can choose the monitor’s resolution, and the size of the landscape images that are going to be used.

In the monitor configuration menu you can choose the monitor’s position on the landscape image: from the two available options, „Center monitor on screen“ and „Center selected image on monitor“, I tried the latter, and found it a bit awkward.

In the image settings, you can select the transparency of the landscape images, as well as rotate the image.

None of these options have any effect, however, unless you click the „Apply“ button. Once you do that, the screensaver window is automatically refreshed with the settings you have chosen.
