When I first started the blog I believed that it would be a great platform to take a deeper look at artists who aren’t usually headlining clubs or playing at festivals. Being someone who has seen the best and worst of touring and been disappointed every time they showed up, I figured that was the place to do it. At the time it was more about writing about the bands I liked more than the ones I didn’t and a lot of those didn’t even come close to breaking through.

Well as you probably guessed I got a lot of flack from the guys and gals at the Silverdove twitter account about this very thing. They are very passionate people and a lot of that passion came to a head in the form of a thread on the official facebook page and the name of the show I’m going to talk about today (Viking Soul) at this years (2009) fest. They got on my case for that saying things like “please stop making excuses!”, “it’s not like we’re asking you to do all the work!”, and the “flava is on the other side of the track.”
