Photoshop 7 and later includes several options when saving a file so that you can automatically set certain options for the file. Go to File⇒Save As, or go to File⇒Export. The options in the Save Options dialog box enable you to choose the output file format, ensure file quality, embed a _resolution_ setting, set a _compression_ setting, and choose whether to embed a text watermark into your image. Note that not all these options are available under all the Save As options.

How to use the tutorial

The tutorial is divided into three main chapters. Each of these sections takes you through a different set of steps in Adobe Photoshop Elements. You can download this as a complete PDF file or print it out.

Steps 1-4 will get you started. This enables you to create a new project, open an existing project or create a new folder with your new project inside. Then you will need to add the new folder to the project.

You can’t edit any existing images unless you are in the catalog. In this tutorial we will edit an existing image. If you find yourself in this situation, open your catalog window, the catalog you use to manage projects. Right-click on the image and select Open in New Window, you’ll find it in the Catalog window after that.

Once you are in the catalog you will see two options – Open Documents (if the catalog is using documents) or Open Images (if it is not). Open the image you want to edit.

In this tutorial we are going to work on a flower image. We will use the Open Images option.

When you open a photo in Photoshop you will see three panels on the left side of the image.

On the left is the Layers panel, where we will add a new layer to make changes to the image.

In the Layers panel the upper layer is the top layer; the lower layers are below it. If you change the name of the layer in the Layer menu, it will change the name of the top layer; if you change the order of the layers in the Layer menu, it will also change the order of the layers.

The middle of the three panels is the Image panel. It contains the thumbnail for the image and the image itself.

When working with images you can add more than one image to the same project. For example, you could make an image of your grandmother for grandma.jpg and the date you went to visit her for the date.jpg.

Photoshop Elements uses the Catalog window to manage images. In the Catalog window you can select multiple images that are in the same project; the images are shown in a grid.

Step 5-6: Make a new folder

Right-click on the Catalog Window and select New Folder, then enter a name.

Marcus Rashford believes he and his Manchester United teammates have improved since a disappointing start to the campaign.

It’s been nearly 24 hours since Democrat Andy Beshear was declared the winner over Republican Matt Bevin and is now the governor. And the power struggle is still going on inside the Kentucky House.

With all the chaos that has ensued since Bevin called for a recount, the splits have been increasing on both sides. In one of the House sessions, the speaker called for Democrats to rise, while the majority of the Democrats wanted the seat to be given to the Republicans.

Republican John C Johnson even wrote a letter to House Speaker David Osborne, and it was read out loud on the floor. In that letter, he said „I am moved by the members on my side of the aisle in this institution, to rise, as I’m sure all are, to say that we do not recognize this as anything less than what it is. And I can only believe you would believe me too, so I ask you, Mr. Speaker, if there is any other way, please, could you hear my voice.“

After a five-minute recess, the majority of Democrats voted for Johnson. This left the Republicans on their own.

The last vote was held on the resolution. The majority of Republicans voted with what they said was the majority of Democrats in the chamber. The resolution passed. Democrats voted 152-0.

The New York Times reported that, “The resolution fell one vote short of the two-thirds majority needed to take away the speaker’s authority.”
