LDAP SSL secure start fail – how to find out where the failure occurs
I am trying to secure my http request against LDAP. I was following this
when I execute „ldapsearch“ command, it says „ldapsearch: No such file or directory“
I am assuming that this is because the LDAP server is not using SSL connection to the LDAP so the command cannot be executed. I don’t know how to check whether the LDAP server is using SSL.
How to find out where the problem is? I used wireshark and checked packets, but didn’t see any suspicious traffic.

You should be able to use the ldapsearch command to check on basic LDAP settings such as the search path. E.g. if you’re testing via the ldapsearch command, the -b on the command line option would be the base DN in the configuration file of your LDAP server.
You can also try and view the actual configuration by using the -X option to the command.
