AutoCAD 2020 23.1 Free Registration Code [Win/Mac] [2022-Latest]

AutoCAD is a complex CAD application. It is very powerful and can perform various types of drawing, plotting, tracking and other operations. In addition to the graphical capabilities, it also includes a variety of command line commands to help you get the job done.

A complete list of AutoCAD commands can be found at Wikipedia: List of Autodesk products. You can find basic instructions for using AutoCAD on the help page.

Getting Started

If you have just downloaded the software ( or AutoCAD.msi) and are installing it for the first time, you will need to run setup.exe in the AutoCAD folder that is placed on your desktop. This will start the setup wizard.

You will be asked to select an installation location. Click next. You may select to run the program on a different computer, or that you will run it on the same computer, or that you will install it on the same computer.

You will be asked to create a username and password. Enter your username and password and click next.

You will be asked whether you want to install the basic toolbars and add other features. Click next.

AutoCAD installs some of the software as required for starting up. It will download certain components automatically if you have asked to do so. The setup wizard will show a progress bar indicating how the installation is going. You can cancel the installation process at any time.

Basic features

In this tutorial, we will discuss the basics of using AutoCAD 2017. You will learn how to create new drawings, create a new drawing template, save drawings, set up drawing workspace, create a new drawing area, and much more.

Create new drawings

Open AutoCAD, click on the Window menu (or press Ctrl+W), and select New.

In the window that pops up, you can type in the name of the drawing and the drawing template. You can also select the drawing location. The default location will be your desktop. Click OK.

A new drawing window opens with the drawing title on top of the drawing canvas. In the drawing title bar, you can move the cursor around with the arrow keys.

Drag the window around the desktop. You can move the window with the arrow keys on the keyboard or with the mouse. When you release the mouse button, the window stops where

Subscription model
AutoCAD LT can be purchased as a part of a subscription model from Autodesk and its successors, or on a one-off basis as a standalone application.

Alternatively, a significant number of organizations are upgrading their entire CAD (computer aided design) workflow, including from legacy CAD to AutoCAD. It is then possible to buy AutoCAD LT for a fixed monthly fee, rather than the annual fee that they previously paid for a single-use license.

For organizations using AutoCAD LT on a subscription basis, such as Autodesk University, the software is supplied in the form of a CD-ROM (with a license key), or as a downloaded installation package. The installation includes trial/evaluation versions of AutoCAD LT 2017 and AutoCAD LT 2018.

In some countries, it is possible to purchase a ‚hosted solution‘ from a local reseller. In this case, the customer signs an annual contract with the reseller, who supports the installation, upgrading and maintenance of the software and the associated hardware.

AutoCAD LT does not have a perpetual license model. A subscription model is the norm for AutoCAD LT, including annual, semi-annual, semester, or academic licensing models, as well as usage-based and volume licensing.

A host of available usage-based licenses exist:

Author: One license per person.
Business: One license per person per site.
Client: One license per single client.
Corporate: One license per person, per corporation.
Student: One license per student, per school.
Universities: Unlimited licenses for universities and departments.

Most hosted solutions have a volume licensing model with the option of site licences, and this is the usual type of license used by individuals.

Student, academic and research institutions can get an unlimited number of academic/research licenses. Also, there is a per-platform per-device per-seat limit for personal use.

The base fee of US$1,150 per year for a non-subscription license is a reflection of the average cost of ownership (less than US$1,000 for annual maintenance) of an AutoCAD LT 2014 license. For comparison, a true perpetual license for the same CAD application in a subscription model (and

Getting started

The AutoCAD Topographic Layout workgroup released the latest AutoCAD release candidate. Highlights include improved support for CADF files and material files. Also the release candidate includes a revised and improved labeling template. Labels are now collected in a drawing in their own label folder so they can be easily hidden or reused in other drawings. Selecting a Point on an Annotation

In AutoCAD you can select a point on an annotation. Previously the point was selected on the annotation, but now the point can be selected on the drawing surface. The results are as follows: If you select a point on the drawing surface, the point is selected on the annotation: The point is selected on the drawing surface, but the annotation is not:

You can use the following keyboard shortcut to select a point on an annotation:

You can use the following keyboard shortcut to toggle between selecting a point on a drawing surface or on an annotation:

New Radial Gradient Controls for Base and Top Face Labels

When creating labels with a base and top face, the controls in the radial gradients palette now use a continuous radial gradient. A radial gradient creates a thin, linear gradient that ranges from a lighter color to a darker color from the center of the base or top face to the outside of the face. This type of gradient allows you to adjust the overall color of the base or top face. You can use the current color or gradient color to adjust the overall color.

Note: If you are using the continuous radial gradient with base or top face labels, you can no longer use the light-to-dark color to select the top or base color. If you select the light-to-dark gradient and select either the top or base color, the base or top color is selected on the drawing surface.
