Pack is a simple package manager (more like a package downloader) which allows you to download and install commonly used programs from the command line. Think of a package manager on linux (i.e. apt-get for Debian/Ubuntu).
If there’s a silent switch, it will execute the setup file via the silent switch. If the only file available to be downloaded is a zip file, it will automatically extract the the zip, and run the setup (if any).
Pack is able to install the following programs.
· Firefox
· Daemon Tools LITE
· Paint.NET
· Notepad++
· Filezilla
Overall, Pack will offer users the possibility to easily download applications using the command line.

All I can say is thanks, all I had to do was download the package and run it, no issues. About time I get off the internet and do something instead of play games or watch xbox live and such. I love this tool, I can install all my software or even make programs (yes I’m a programmer) with out having to use downloadzilla or the like as this makes things a lot easier. Just sayin‘

· Pack is a command line package management utility which will allow you to install a program from a single file or a zip file.
· The main purpose of the application is to install programs which are not included in the distro.
· The application will attempt to automatically unpack the tar.gz,.tar.bz2,.tgz, and.zip files if the files are not found on the system.
· Pack uses a configuration file to make sure that the application doesn’t install certain software (like Java) or asks for privileges or if an application is missing.
· Pack will be the perfect replacement for most Windows users.
· Pack is really easy to use, it has a GUI and an easy to use commands that allows you to install and uninstall packages.
· An example of how to install your desktop environment of choice in Ubuntu using Pack is as follows:
To install Xubuntu:
· Open your home folder and open the.config file located in your home folder.
· Once opened, you will need to copy this line and paste it in to the file.
[ -e /usr/bin/xubuntu-session ] && /usr/bin/xubuntu-session
· Save the file and exit it.
· Now, run the following command to install xubuntu.

What’s New in the Pack?

Pack is an application made using.NET Framework. It will not work for computers running older versions of Windows. Pack does not have a GUI, so it may seem complicated.
The basic steps are:
*Download Pack
*Extract Pack in the location where you want to install it (i.e. desktop)
*If there are folders inside of the Pack, then you have to run the Setup which is located within the Main folder.
PACK’S STARTING POINT:

UNINSTALL: There is an uninstall button on the program which will uninstall the program if you click on it.
HARDWARE NOT SUPPORTED: Pack is not able to work on computers with certain hardware configurations. You may download Pack today, and you may not be able to download or install it tomorrow (i.e. it does not work with USB drives).
INSTALL HELP: If you need any help in installing Pack, please refer to the documentation files found in the Documentation subfolder (i.e. README.txt, INSTALL.txt, etc). Feel free to ask any questions in the forum.
BUILDING: You may also build Pack using the Build tool which is located in the Main folder (i.e. Build.bat).
System Requirements: Pack requires.NET Framework Version 1.1 or later (i.e. not.NET Framework 1.0 or earlier).
Icons: Pack requires the following icons (if you do not have them, it will just use the default icons).

Visit the download section on the program website.
You will find downloads (zip, exe, etc) in the Download section.
The download section also provides notes for the download, such as decompressing instructions for the zip file or patching the exe file (see the documentation in the download section for more information).

System Requirements: There are no system requirements for Pack. It will work with any Windows OS.
