What is Google Invisibility Tracker?
Google Invisibility Tracker informs you when a buddy of yours goes invisible. This is possible only if your buddy uses Gmail chat or Google Talk Lab Edition or iGoogle chat.
The reason is that these 3 clients use to send a vcard node when they go offline while when going invisible they send a plain unavailable presence. This means that if we analyze all unavailable presences sent by online buddies we can discover if they’re going offline or invisible. Obviously you have to be online (or at least invisible) to catch the presence.
Note that there’s a odd case: if shared status is invisible we cannot state if the chat is turned on while if shares status is not invisible we’re sure that an unavailable presence

The client will send a presence unavailable without vcard so the plugin will catch you as Invisible.

This plugin is a tool to detect when your friends go Invisible using your Gmail account. It does only detect friend who are using Google Talk(Lab Edition), Gmail chat, iGoogle, or Share your status from any app. Google Invisibility Tracker simply catches up with Presence nodes that are having the vCard-like text „x-vcard“, „x-vcard-2“ or „x-chat“.
To do so it parses the custom status that are sent from certain apps/servers. The custom status that are sent from Gmail, Google Talk Lab Edition, iGoogle or Share your status from any app are basically „x-vcard“, „x-vcard-2“, „x-chat“ and „vCard“ respectively.
The plugin requires user to be online (or at least invisible) and is able to give the user a message whenever a buddy goes invisible. All the data (about the buddies whose status changed) is stored in your Google Home page on the Google Invisibility Tracker > Summary page as a JSON, which can be then processed further using your own/external JavaScript code.
Note: the plugin can also detect when your own online status goes invisible. In that case there is no message to inform, but it will allow you to check on that and ask yourself, why that happened.
Installation
This plugin is included in the ..WPPlugin directory and you can simply extract it in your admin_plugin/ directory.

Using Google Invisibility Tracker
Check the box “Include Message” and enter your e-mail address. In addition, you will get a copy of all users who goes online (or at least invisible), and their online/offline status.
All the data is stored in the Google Invisibility Tracker > Summary page as a JSON file and then processed using your own/external JavaScript code.
In more detail:
Once you start the plugin, it will count all online user who are using the aforementioned chat types, and then prepare and download all the data. To be able to store the data in a database, it will firstly generate a database table with 3 columns: ID, FRIEND_ID, and STATED_BY.
Once all the data is stored, the plugin will show the friend list and a link to the Google Invisibility Tracker > Summary page.
What’s New In Google Invisibility Tracker?
This really simple GTKTK plugin displays the status of your friends and any others you follow. It works by auto-detecting if your friends are online or offline and then when it detects that they’ve gone missing it will show how long they’ve been gone and who they were with. If you turn off shared status, it’ll display the name of the buddy you were talking with and the name of whoever was visiting your home page.
Text color and text size may be changed by clicking on a group of buddies who have shared their status.
It works by catching the presence packets that show the instant, historical status of your buddies and other friends on the Google Talk servers, and displays it in an easy-to-read, visual timeline.

Set a friend or contact as your Resource.
Follow instructions to configure your settings.
Tips:
You may run the plugin without either sharing your status or turning off shared status. This way the plugin will monitor your buddies‘ presence and when it finds them offline it will show you the time they’ve been offline and who they were chatting with.
Note that the status of your resource will change if it goes offline or turns on its shared status.
The plugin is available for both Windows and Mac.
