The Open Toolkit (OTK) is a portable widget library for making GUI applications. It is the work of people who share the aim of bringing low level programming facilities to the end user. The main focus of OTK development is to provide the standard widgets, in part to provide more reliable and robust interfaces. The emphasis of development is on portability of the interface to different environments and different operating systems. A number of platform-specific user interface libraries have been developed. This has been to try and provide the same look and feel, with as much consistency as possible.
This library is open source and released under a BSD licence.

The OTK widgets have been developed to be usable using any kind of tree language. The developed widgets use templating techniques. The main languages used for templating are XML/HTML/DOM and JSON.
