    ReviewsIn the Shadow of the Raven is an atmosphere game for people who love mixtures of excitement, horror and humor.

    Just like in the case of Die Hard, a person has to go through all the necessary steps of a raven’s own life: find a nice owner, practice in the countryside and finally fight for survival on the streets. The development of the game is marked by the musical influence: first a broad and old-fashioned soundtrack with the music of the eighties (“Branded in Black” and “Keep On Rockin’ in the Free World” for example), then blues with the occasional jazz, and finally improvisations of atmospheric sound (industrial, folk, cinematic). The soundtrack of the game is marked by it’s alternation between strong and strange elements.

    The story tells us about a model of a courier, who lives at the beginning of the game in a beautiful and spacious countryside. The owner of the game is a raven named Ve stínu havrana (Raven So Long) in the game; he is a raven of German and of northern origin. It happens that he has found the courier at an abandoned farm. It was also no news of anything unusual to the raven. He lived at the farm for quite a time, that’s all. After that he found him a protector, later it was his chance to travel and to practice in the countryside. Then the courier had the chance to fight for his life at the streets of the world.

    When you start the game, the courier has a maximum of one „life“ left, and the opponent – Ve stínu havrana. If the latter’s life reaches zero, the game ends.

    At that moment the game starts with a dramatic and artistic opening film, and in the background a familiar „Branded in Black“ background music can be heard. On the screen we see the angry spirit of the courier, who is raving on a stony countryside. Then the raven enters the game. The player is given six lives, which he can lose only by pushing the button of the mouse.

    If the first death of the courier has been caused by the trap of the player, the program will indicate the message „fälschen!“, which means „to cheat.“ For example, if the raven’s has detected that the player pushed a
