There’s something so satisfying about finding a mistake in a piece of writing and correcting it before your eyes.

This is exactly what happens in The Perplexing Past, a new puzzle game from Daisybrain, a new company with new ideas about how to solve puzzles. It’s out today, and it’s about time I took a look at it.

The Perplexing Past is all about correcting mistakes. You play as an adorable little red heart who’s a bit of a perfectionist, and you use your big red button to correct mistakes in others’ work, saving people the headache of having to rewrite everything.

The setting is a puzzle-ish looking café full of adorable drawings of things that may or may not actually exist. Your job is to correct the spelling mistakes that customers make as they order their food, while also saving the customer from doing extra work and rewriting their order. Some of the sentences are a bit more difficult to get right, but by making sure you get the thing right and smiling as you do so, you’ll earn points and unlock new items and puzzles.

There are hundreds of different items, so there are a lot to unlock. Players who are given the chance to do most of the puzzle themselves can unlock items one at a time; those who want to get to the end quicker can choose to go through the game with the help of a partner or quickly start playing the game once they’ve got all the required items. You’ll probably end up doing things differently in both instances.

The Perplexing Past is very easy to get into; it’s free, there’s no real learning curve, and the controls are simple enough that you can get stuck on them and then spend ages going back and getting into the flow of the game. While it’s fun and enjoyable enough, there’s not a lot of challenge to it, and by the time you’ve got all the items and solved a majority of the puzzles, you’ll be ready to move on to something different.

Strange Telephone Free [32|64bit]

The main character Jill – a little girl – is trapped in the world of Strange Telephone, with a large floating door before her. Helping Jill out of the world is her sidekick, Graham. He becomes a phone, and can be summoned to provide Jill with a method of escape – though of course, the method is never made entirely clear to the player. However, this feature of the game is also its greatest weakness, as it allows for different paths to be explored, and without some sort of guide, the player will have to do some heavy reading in order to figure out the answer to which path will lead to Jill’s escape. At some point in the game, Graham will shed his phone form and resume his human form, and Jill will find a girl named Mary who is one of the many inhabitants of the world of Strange Telephone. Mary will help Jill find the answer to the question of how to get out of this world. A world-hopping feature of the game is that all of the possible endings are connected, so if Jill successfully makes it out of the final world, she’ll be able to view the endings in order.Story Strange Telephone

Jill wakes up in a strange world. She is afraid, because she has no memory of how she got there. She runs across a guard and gets into a battle with him, resulting in her getting locked in an empty room. She explores the room and notices a panel containing a telephone. She uses the phone and discovers that she can talk to Graham, her friend from the past. She calls him, and he picks up her call. He is unable to get her out of the room, however, because the door has appeared before her and starts to float away. He informs her that there is a key which can open the door, but she is unable to remember anything about the key or her past.Graham tells her that if she makes her way through the worlds as they appear, she’ll be able to figure out what she needs to do to find the key. The world that she starts off in is only the fourth in the game. The second world is a playground where Jill is introduced to other kids and has her abilities as a sharpshooter tested. The third world is where Jill meets her younger self and they begin to bond over their difficulties growing up.

This is the development background that was later used in the development of the game. The game was originally going to be a prequel in which Jill’s memories were erased from her mind
