We looked at the workday as 15 discrete increments – our Off Schedule time is a batch of 30 minute blocks in which we can find the missing time; or as an hour block for a simple project. This shows fairly strong correlations with weekends and lunch hours. Such insight might prove to be very important for us when we finish our project, either in the form of productivity and productivity efficiency, time to market, testing of scope, and enough budget to raise.
There was a lot of activity on Saturday and Sunday. On the Wednesday, the “off time” was Friday evening. That’s interesting, I didn’t notice it when I first read your blog. Is it called a night day? Usually, it’s Monday and Thursday, but here it was Friday.
Fun facts: We still haven’t put “statute” (or I got a “statute” template, but that’s about it) in to our system. Admittedly, it looks like our “statute” is right before us, but is that correct?
Anyway, I was able to make a screen shot with a period of “off-time” on the Friday prior to “statute” and it shows my schedule coverage for just the week of Saturday/Sunday time. It shows a weakly defined schedule that I can then build a more permanent “statute” around.
